NOX | Sydney, 2019
Moon Rings, 2019
Site-specific Installation: sand & concrete sculptures on perspex material (mounted on a wooden box)
NOX was a three night sculpture event at the Randwick Environment Park, Sydney, showcasing the 34 works of students from UNSW Art & Design, Sydney.
The 1.5km illuminated walkway showcased Gaia’s immersive installation, Moon Rings, 2019, as the harmonic dialogue between the cosmos and the earth, taking its inspiration from Gaia’s Paper Rings photography series.
Two circular sculptures reflected light & shadow on the blue perspex alluding as if moon rings dropped from the sky and landed in water. The night illumination enhanced the spectacle casting a mysterious, yet playful, shadow on the large landscape area.
